Table selection in cash games is something which often gets over-looked. There is alot of information out there. Just because you have sat at a table doesnt mean you should feel stuck there as well. If the play/players arent right for you, look else where.
Information :-
1) Average Pot size. You can see this from the lobby and is an indication of the amount of action. You personally should know if you prefer big action games, where you may need to risk more, but for potentially higher rewards. Make sure you are adequately rolled for high average pot-size games.
2) Players seeing each flop. You can see this, in percentage terms, from the lobby. It is a good indication of how many grinders there are at the table. Players folding waiting for hands, reflected by a lower percentage.
3) Hands per hour. An indictation of how intense the speed of the table is going to be. Some players may be better suited to tables with a lower hands per hour to have more thinking time & breaks between one hand and the next.
4) Buys-in for less than the standard buy-in for the table. In many cases this can indicate being under-rolled for the level, or an over-cautious player. Some may also be looking for a "quick hit" ie a quick double up before leaving
5) Buy-in for obscure amount. Can be an indicator of the end of their roll.
6) Players waiting for the big blind when first joining, can be an indicator of a tight player.
7) Timezones. If you spot a player playing a little erractic, have a little look where in the world they are from and what time it is there. If it is the early hours they may be drunk and an easy target 
8) The raise every hand maniacs. If this doesnt fit your style dont hang around just to try to beat them. Find a table that better suits you.
